Build your emergency fund

It’s important to have an emergency fund to use as buffer for life’s unforeseen expenses. Having $1000 is a good place to start or more depending on your circumstances.

Tracking expenses & budgeting

Create a budget that you can use every month to know where your money is going and track your expenses. Make sure you stick with it for at least 90 days to see results.

Re-examine your expenses and income

You want to feel great about every expenses every month and if you don’t feel great about it, you want to get rid of it.

Focus on your debt

Yes! The dreaded elephant in the room. Think about how much you could spend or have extra every month if your money wasn’t going to creditors. Kendall breaks this step down to make it totally doable and more fun.

Planning for fun

Treating yourself is so important but Kendall talks about how to avoid the last-minute splurges all while still being able to spend on the things you enjoy most.

“If you feel like you have done all of this in the past and have still not had success, the first place for you to start is to get your mindset right!”

About Our Guest

Kendall is a Mindset + Money coach and mama to her 17-month-old-son, Owen, with a baby girl on the way due in December!

After struggling for years with her own finances, she made a drastic change that led her to pay down $30,000 of debt in just 12 short months – without having to sacrifice the lifestyle that she loved. During that same time, she and her husband traveled (cash-paid) to places like Ireland, Scotland, and Costa Rica and were able to save up 6 months worth of living expenses before her son was born so that she didn’t have to rush back into corporate America.

Once her son was here it was clear that she had no desire to leave him and go back to the 9-5 grind. She turned her passion and success in personal finance into a coaching practice to help other women achieve financial success, pay down their debt, increase their income, and save more of their hard-earned money. Kendall’s main goal with her clients is to help them overcome their financial overwhelm and set them up with the right tools to be confident in reaching their money goals.

While she’s not in coach mode, Kendall can be found hanging with her husband, Mark and their son Owen around their hometown in Southern CA, although her happy place is lounging on the couch with a glass of red and another episode of Friends.
